lurgeesays...Need more input!
I am also a fan of John Cage from what I have found on the tubes over the years.
Please post more.

wazantsays...Great stuff! It's the first interview I've seen with Cage--he's just as fascinating as his "music". Thanks for posting.
8727says...people make a big deal about some tune he did that was just silence for 4mins. alt rock bands do that all the time, it's neither creative or not, but to make a big deal out of it is just the height of stupidity. as if it's like the emperor's new clothes or something, they're all mad!!
wazantsays...It's not especially creative to copy John Cage; but to be John Cage is something else! The piece you refer to, 4'33", was basically his hit single and in 1952 it was revolutionary.
But you are in good company in dismissing him as the "emperor's new clothes". Cage is probably second only to Andy Warhol as the target of that accusation.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...Johald my boy, I think this ones just a wee bit over your head. Sorry.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'john cage' to 'john cage, silence, music, atonal avenger' - edited by Fusionaut
