Joe the "Plumber" talking about the EFCA

Joe "the Plumber" talking out his ass about the EFCA.

From the Huffington Post:
[Mr. Wurzelbacher] has been asked by Americans For Prosperity to serve as the group's labor-busting shill in the campaign against the Employee Free Choice Act, which would allow labor unions to form through both a secret ballot or by card-check -- a choice that would reduce instances of anti-union intimidation common to the formative stages of organizing.

[...]

...here's a video of a reporter from Keystone Progress attempting to divine what, if anything, Wurzelbacher knows about the labor law issues he's spokesmodeling for now. SPOILER ALERT: HE DOES NOT KNOW A BLESSED THING, GAH. What Joe knows how to do, apparently, is dodge questions, say the word "brother" over and over again like he's Desmond from Lost, and bleat senselessly about how "it's all about America." It's no wonder that actual plumbers hate this phony like he was feline leukemia.

The Right Wing seems to care a lot about making sure forming Unions remains difficult. Ensuring Workers' Rights is not one of their priorities.

Had Mr. Wurzelbacher actually been a plumber, his views on Unions would be very different (and a hell of a lot better informed), I'm sure.

Blah, who cares if people want to join unions or not, as long as they don't affect legislation.

Millions and millions and millions of people, their families, friends, and the neighborhoods they all live in, the stores they shop at, the banks they borrow from, the industries they support, and .... oh fuck it.

Joe is an idiot, and apparently he canceled his appearance later that day, probably because he realized he has no fucking clue of anything and should probably just stfu.

Why not?

Mainly I don't agree with collusion to create legislation to restrict and regulate the rights of either the individual worker, the unionized workers, or the business owner(s).

But it's okay for the business owners to "collude" by way of lobbying, but not the working class?

^legislation for the unions or against the unions is unfair. How's that work for you, NR?

It's not fair for legislation to be passed based on powerful groups getting near legislators, whether that be the unions or rich business owners.

The rich land owners have exploited the labor of the working class throughout the history of civilization. Unions are our only chance to ensure we counterbalance the exploitation so in the future we can finally give the opportunity to the working class to one day own the means of production in the world.

^No. No. Absolutely not. That's my point. No collusion to create unfair legislation.

Except that Grover Norquist and his ilk are not going to stop influencing our politics, so unions have every right to be as political as they want to be.

If you talk about unions in any business here in America there is a 90% chance that you will be fired within the week.

The only way the working class is going to get ahead is by organizing.
