By 3rd party do you guys mean Christian Conservatives like Pat Buchanan?

Pat Buchanan ran as an Independent in 2000. Does being Christian somehow mean one is ineligible to run 3rd Party? And guess what, Ron Paul happens to be Christian, as well as conservative.

I think it would be closer to what we mean to advocate some form of proportional representation system rather than advocating "3rd parties", as the latter has the two drawbacks of (1) Duverger's law, as mentioned above, and (2) that we're unintentionally advocating independent candidates we disagree with (e.g. creationists).

The real problem is how we vote. If America switched to an instant runoff voting system, it'd be much easier to get third party candidates in office.
