great sift

Looks like a modern take on Stalker's long takes and harsh visuals...

Yes, Zvyagintsev is often being compared with Tarkovsky, and also Kieslowski.
But he's increasingly finding his own distinctive way to make films, especially in content.
His first film, Vozvrashcheniye (The Return) is more straightforward than this one, which is more complex - I found the story structure and the emotions of the Banishment very provoking.

Moving this video to Eklek's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
