joedirtsays...Clearly this is all Hamas fault. Clearly they were hiding in the entire city of Rafah (much like those inside the UN schools). Of course Israel must bomb the entire city, how else do you send a message that free elections are not really free.
Sure you live under occupation, inside fences and under constant surveillance and bombings. Sure the Israelis control all movements, food and water, and electricity. But make no mistake, you are not free to elect any leaders that Israel does not approve of***.
***(Note: that Hamas was originally supported and encouraged by Israel as opposition to existing powers, please ignore this fact.)
vaporlocksays...The utter devastation says it all. I wonder who will help them rebuild?
joedirtsays...^ rebuild?? name one thing rebuilt in Gaza?
Assuming some day there is rebuilding, it will be US tax dollars used (we pay twice, once for the bombs and once for the rebuilding)
Trancecoachsays...This is what happens when Israel's international ambassador (namely, the United States) falls asleep at the switch.
Thanks for nothing, Bush.
Here are some solid articles covering some of the political dealings behind the present conflict:
