True story: Indy was supposed to use his whip to get the sword from the swordsman, but Harrison Ford was too sick to pull the stunt off. Finally, he suggested to Spielberg that Indy just shoot the guy, and Spielberg liked that idea, so they went with it.

I love how he just has this "This is such a waste of my time." look when he shoots the guy.

Never bring a scimitar to a gun fight.

They didn't tell the scimitar wielder about the plan until the last minute and he was really mad because he had practiced for weeks and his big scene was cut.
