(youtube) Ok, so you need to light your cigarette or burn down a forest and you have no matches, a lighter, or any other source of fire. Not even a magnifying glass.... Well, grab a pack of gum that has the tin wrapping around it and a battery. Cut out a thin strip of the wrapper, and at the tip make it about 1/8" of an inch. Once done, touch both ends to the + - ends of the battery and lighter it up.

Great tip but bad video.

He doesn't explain at all what he's doing; it's only by watching that you can see the size of the strip that he cuts and that he cuts a corner off the fold to make the thin part which becomes the element, overheats and sets the paper part on fire.

Simply talking through the video about what he's doing and why would have made this much better.
