Here is what I don't get. When it's cooked into a liquid wouldn't it be too hot to inject into a vein or is heroin's solidus below 98.6F. Damn, I just realized now how uncool I am: I don't know how to use heroin and but I can use the word solidus.

Heroin is usually boiled after/while dissolving it to water because:

-It makes the dissolving faster and reduces risk of injecting undissolved particles

-It kills most of the bacteria and viruses that the smack might contain

Obviously the solution should be cooled down before injecting. Some users take "cold shots" and don't boil the solution before injection, possibly because they think boiling wastes some of the heroin or because they are too poor or lazy to get access to a flame.
