Skeevesays...That's great. A friend and I discussed the possibility of making a Guitar Hero robot when GH2 came out, it looks like someone beat us to it.
cheesemoosays...Damn fine job! I've seen somebody mod a controller to do this (electronically), but it required the note sequence beforehand. Looks like these guys are using some sort of image recognition, and computer vision just hasn't been perfected yet.
darkrowansays...Here's a writeup from TechEBlog: It was built as a senior project for a group of Texas A&M students. It does not have the moves memorized (obviously since this was 96%, impressive nonetheless) but actually reads the screen for what the next notes will be.
