Goodnight Saigon - Billy Joel

The song is from a perspective of a young soldier in Vietman war, but the feelings are still true in today's world. Everytime I listen to this song, it touches my heart. Just listen to the lyrics.. From his 1982 album 'The Nylon Curtain'.
"And we held on to each other,
Like brother to brother.
We promised our mothers we'd write.
And we would all go down together,
We said wed all go down together,
Yes we would all go down together"

Used to fall asleep to this song off the 1987 Концерт album back when tape decks were state of the art when I was ten and eleven. I don't know why, but this song about death, fear and frustration is one of the most soothing musical experiences I've ever had. I think it's cuz it made me realize that fear is nothing if you're in it together. Nice post.
