Doc_Msays...So let's think for a second, what is the story: wittle bush got his watch stolen and didn't notice?? /cry ::: or the President of the most powerful nation in the world had his watch stolen while allowing countless normal, real folks shake his hand in a huge crowd in a nation that shows TREMENDOUS support for the help of America in its search for independence and equal rights. ...just look at the intro. Come on... This nation loves our efforts on its behalf. Even in this report, despite said theft.
Fedquipsays...heh, Albania's love for America is a wonderful.
Watching Bush get his watch stolen on Camera is priceless.
joedirtsays...He couldn't walk a crowd like that in America. That is bizarre. I wonder how to gather those type of pre-screen loyalists.
EMPIREsays...Whoever stole the watch, is a skillful thief. He didn't even notice, and neither did the secret service.
bigbikemansays...Did he give everyone who kissed his ass a free car or something?
maatcsays...wonder how long it will take for it to end up on ebay...
v1k1n6says...You can find this watch on my ebay auction. Search for profile _presidential_treasures
Doc_Msays..."An Albanian bodyguard who accompanied Bush in the town told The Associated Press he had seen one of his U.S. colleagues close to Bush bend down and pick up the watch.
The Top Channel private TV station showed how one of his bodyguards may have talked to the president and then taken the watch from his hand."

farcraftersays...According to this, the official whitehouse story is the president put his watch in his pocket. So thats official then.

nihilosays...I think the guy with the real slight of hand ability must be Bush then, because I'm watching that video and I don't see him taking off his watch with one hand and slipping it in his pocket.
arvanasays...GWB is like the pope -- he's infallible. Therefore it's completely impossible that his watch actually got stolen from him.
Bigboomersays...You can definately see pairs of hand clammering at his wirst inbetween 3:17 and 3:12... definately was pinched while no one noticed, they're just covering their asses.
doremifasays...Where's the "free speech zone?"
MINKsays...Lol Doc_M, you probably thought the entire Iraqi nation welcomed america when they took the Saddam statue down.
loorissays...my god how can they be so evil?
he got his watch stolen, that's a FACT, and they still try to tell plain lies. Couldn't they simply stfu?
dw1117says...This reminds me of the "Bump" on Bush's back scandal during the presidential debates a few years back.
ObsidianStormsays...Yeah - wow. The fact that they have to lie about even that is REMARKABLE. Are these guys even CAPABLE of telling the truth?
I don't think so.
arvanasays...I am strongly reminded of the "watch steal" magic trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXxMeHKkOJU
illetosays...The funny thing is they are thanking Bush for what Clinton did.
quantumushroomsays...I oppose Bush's amnesty plan, he's hardly infallible, but the comments here seem rather petty, even for tinfoil hats.
IDK0029says...The guy who stole his watch could of killed him damn if only i had that chance oh no the fbi is here damn i am going to jail i was just joking guys damn
jwraysays...At 3:04, as Bush is lowering his arm, after guy was supposed to have stolen his watch, there's 1 frame that looks like the watch is still on his arm. After that he has both hands down and could be pocketing the watch. The video isn't good enough to say one way or the other.
The press secretary would have a lot to lose by saying something obviously false with no wiggle room. At least with WMD stockpiles in Iraq they can almost plausibly make the case that they were genuinely mistaken and didn't just make it all up.
But it's sheer laziness on the part of CNN to say it's conclusively "solved" merely because the president's staff claims it is. Bush has lied a lot in the past. If CNN is just going to mindlessly parrot, without an iota of investigation, the administration's chief propagandist (aka white house press secretary), It really isn't worth watching. There's no indication that the "mystery solved" reporter even checked any of the videos that Tony Snow refers to. There's way too much parroting and not enough thinking in all the TV news, except sometimes the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.
It's remotely possible that Bush tried to give the impression of getting his watch stolen to give his Albanian reception psyops more circulation among those less friendly to Bush.
Doc_Msays...Man, Sifters just love to hate teh bush. It's like a MoveOn meeting in here. lol.
