GIBSON, self tuning robot guitar

Gibson gets official with the self-tuning Robot Guitar.

For all you rockers out there who are too lazy or too busy to tune your own strings, Gibson has just made your day. The self-tuning Les Paul we told you about back at the beginning of October has just gotten its official release date and a brand-spanking-new name: The Gibson Robot Guitar. Sure, it won't fix you breakfast, watch the children, or make a logical decision to wipe out all human life on the planet, but on December 12th, it will tune the hell out of your Ernie Balls. Check the video after the break to see the guitar in action.

..only if it breaks and you don't have a back-up....this innovation is uber cool squared!!! It does look like a potential clusterfuck, esp. for folks who are hard on their guitars.....what's the cost of the set-up....answer:PROHIBITIVE an extra $1000 bones....

That's mighty impressive. I can see this being useful for those who want just one guitar and want to switch between tunings easily. I guess it saves the multiple guitars with different tunings problem ... but isn't that a nice problem to have?

Yeah, that setup seems like a b*tch to setup.
Blinking blue, red, green, rotations...
Would be embarrassing, in the middle of the concert, flipping through the user's manual that was taped on the back side of the guitar.

I'm sure there was a more cohesive way to design the interface...instead of this mini HAL embodied in a knob. What a knob though. Yeah.
