Formula 1 testing 2014 Jerez [HD] pure V6 turbo sound

Rick Lubb was lucky enough to attend two days of the first Formula 1 test in Jerez in Spain, and post videos of each. This one is day 2. Day 1 is here - http://youtu.be/s99QFe6htJ4 - and was recorded on 28 January.

This video gives a good idea of how the new cars are going to look and sound this year, with v6 turbo engines replacing the naturally aspirated v8's from last year. You can really hear the turbo whine at the end of the straight in this vid.

If you've been following the f1 news you already know that Mercedes and Ferrari are the only teams to have done much running at the test, with all of the Renault powered teams having some trouble and reigning champions Red Bull having the most trouble of all (even Marussia, who arrived late, did more running than Red Bull).

Lotus didn't have their car ready and didn't attend this test at all. They were instead going to shake down their car over the weekend after the test (also at Jerez) during a 'filming day'. They are allowed 100km (17 laps) on demonstration tyres, which is actually not far short of the 21 laps Red Bull managed at the official test.

I expect the Renault and Red Bull problems will be all sorted at the Bahrain test in a few weeks time.
