she actually starts speaking at 3:20. you can fast forward the first three minutes of applause... at first i thought this was going to be a joke post because of the title! 9 minutes of applause as "the first part of sarah palin's RNC speech." heh

I read many people tuned in to watch her speech, so I was curious. I think she was an interesting choice for McCain, but this doesn't seem like an out-of-the ordinary speech.

If she can't even control her audience, what makes you think she'll be able to govern a country?

If she's so drunk on attention she waits nearly a minute every time the audience starts clapping, that's a problem.

If she believes an acceptance speech should include introducing your entire family, including your parents, that's a small-town girl that doesn't belong in a big-town office.

She's grasping at straws. How dare she claim to identify with families of special-needs children when she really hasn't had to deal with anything related to disabilities yet?! Changing the diapers of a five-month-old Down's baby is no different than changing the diapers of a five-month-old baby that isn't disabled.

Ugh.
