longdesays...To subject your child to a lifetime of hate and ostracism IS child abuse. No different than naming a little boy "B***h Mother****** Jones", and sending him to school for 12 years.
If you are going to raise a racist, at least give them the plausible deniability that the modern racist coasts on.
Darkhandsays...Holy crap is anyone else having a problem viewing the video because of the damned interactive ads?!?
snooznsays...This lovely family was in the news a while back when their local shop refused to make a "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler" cake for them: http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/today/index.ssf/2008/12/holland_township_family_angry.html
The parents are just horrible on several levels: obviously extreme racist bigots, willing to saddle their kids with a lifetime of pain/teasing/unwanted attention. I don't know just how many parts evil and how many parts stupid.
Even with all that, I doubt it's best for the kids to adopted out to some family they don't even know. Of course if there is some other kind of abuse going on, that changes things. Unfortunately, kids grow up in racist homes all the time and a great many kids grow up with values I don't agree with. Sometimes, the world just is what it is, and you have to hope that little Adolf and his siblings will eventually mature better than their parents and escape this sad and murky existence.
nibiyabisays...Can't see the video because the interactive ad freezes when he goes to throw the powder on the carpet. . . .
vairetubesays...lol, for a while there i was thinking... they thought Hitler was a first name.

Yup, I posted the story in Sift Talk when it broke.

Yogisays...I don't think I'm ok with just holding children without proof or reason. There's an obvious reason but you must state it, you can't just take children from other people and not give any reason. This is just a flat out abuse of state power.
The parents have every right to know why, and to challenge any and all accusations in a court of law. If you just take them, it's called a police state. They might as well have been war protesters who's children were taken away because they're "Anti-American."

I get what you're saying and in a way i agree. But in another possibly bigger way, i think "fuck em". I think this might be one case where the best place a child can be is not with the parents. It's bad for the kid and bad for the world that they're trying to indoctrinate their kid with ignorant ideals.
Shit, they're almost as bad as christians!
Yogisays...Danny, I absolutely agree that the child probably shouldn't be with those parents, that's not at issue with me. What the problem I think is the state just taking custody of who they want and not having a reason. We can legally do this to our citizens now, and hold them without trial. It looks like that's what they're going to do with these kids, just not bother giving a reason and instead adopting them to some family at an undisclosed location. That's horrific, I don't want my government having that sort of power. I think that if our democracy worked, we wouldn't let this sort of thing happen with at due process.
