Ex-CIA agent: Waterboarding is torture. White House: Um...

The first part of this video is a clip with ex-CIA interrogator John Kiriakou who now considers waterboarding torture. The second clip is from Dana Perino's White House Press Briefing on 12/11/07 in which she was asked about Kiriakou's characterization.

Ari and Tony would get aggrevated getting caught in their web of lies, Dana keeps her cool consistently, which is scary to say the least. I don't think she even understands what she is defending sometimes.

Five Reasons Torture Doesn't work by Joe Navarro, one of the F.B.I.’s top experts in questioning techniques:

1) Talk can't be confused with truth. A torture victim will say anything, true or false, to get the pain to stop.

2) The stress pain confuses the subject and he simply can't remember details well enough to produce good intelligence.

3) The torture subject may die or go into shock, in which case no information can be obtained from him.

4) The torture victim, if he tells the interrogator anything at all, is likely to give one piece of information, or very little information, whereas a cooperative source will talk and continue talking.

5) Torture strengthens the resolve of the detainee, citing Senator McCain, who after having his shoulder torn from is socket by interrogators in Vietnam, was more determined than ever to keep his silence.

When I went through SERE training in the Navy, we we're all worried about torture. The instructors taught us the survival part there, but basically told us that torture was on it's way out because it's proven unreliability. We were told that instead they would probably put us up in a nice hotel/somewhere that was bugged and that 100x more info can be gleaned from someone that thinks the war's over for them and that the enemies aren't that bad. Made sense to us, but that was the 80's and it's still out there en force. Something to wonder.

"I can't imagine how Perino, or Snow, or McClellan, or Fleischer could lie like that, every single day. I would be a bad White House Press Secretary."

In the past 5+ years the White House Secretary has been a bad White House Secretary. They also don't seem to last very long. I don't think most of them can lie that much without psychological consequences either.

Like squeezing water from a rock, dealing with these press secretaries.

Dana -'All interogation techniques used have been legal and NOT torture.'
Press-'What about waterboarding?'
Dana -'No comment.'

1. The US uses waterboarding.
2. Waterboarding is torture.
3. Therefore, the US uses torture.

Dana Perino is a lying bitch who should go to jail with Bush & Cheney for obstruction of justice & conspiracy to obstruct justice in TortureGate.

She's the kind of person, along with a lot of the administration, that could take giant shit on your desk and tell you, with all sincerity, that it's a cinnamon roll. And I don't think it's just that they're good liars, I think it's cause they believe so vehemently they can do no wrong, they really don't even think they're lying.
