Adaptation is not mentioned in the video and rightly so, since it only breeds confusion.

I wish people in the scientific community would be more careful when using that term. Adaptation does not refer to adaptation to the environment, rather the adaptation to the mutation. The key ingredient is mutation.

The one thing that is key from a superficial view of evolution is natural selection and only that.

Bigger trunk lives -> everyone else dies -> elephant - naturally selected.
