upon reflection, it's likely that the same comparison can be made for most if not all "first-world" nations
as a very simple example of this, let's assume two things: that oil consumption A. increases in a first-world nation as population increases, and B. increases in proportion to the total developed land area of a first-world nation...
comparing both the total population and daily oil consumption of two large first-world nations, say the united states and canada, would have one barrel of oil per day supporting 14.7 people of the former and 14.6 people of the latter, respectively
my guess is that ed was using his particular analogy because he was addressing an american audience, rather than singling out the united states for (more) global disdain
Trancecoachsays...I think Wilson and Ms. Jane Goodall need to get together on this issue and make it very clear to the new administration.
