The tarsands in northern Alberta are a global issue, not just Canada's problem.

World renowned climate scientist, Dr. James Hansen brought a message of no new oilsands and no coal when he testified before the Energy Resources Conservation Board of Alberta about a proposed oilsands mining project. His message was that governments have agreed emissions need to come down to protect the climate so a logcial first step is to not grow industries that are taking emissions in the opposite direction. - youtube.
