GOOD! just making sure Now vote for your own video you silly modest goon!
gwiz665says...Direct Manipulation is a bit misleading, as it's only the speed of playback you interact with, by dragging the objects on the screen. Still pretty cool, though.
Enzobluesays...I don't think you're actually dragging objects either, it' just mouse gestures you can probably do anywhere on the screen,
10921says...It looks like theres a bit more going on then just controlling speed of playback with mouse motion. Just guessing, but seems like the idea is that the video plays as long as the object identified by the initial click keeps moving in the same direction as the mouse. E.g. in the falling cell phone clip, the playback stops as soon as the phone hits the surface, even though the cursor continues to move down past that point (the software figured out that the object had stopped moving and couldn't be dragged any further). Very neat bit of programming.
ChosenOnesays...Imagine the applications for the adult entertainment industry. Up, down, up, down.. left, right, left, right..... empty cup, full cup.. empty cup... err..
direct manipulation is a terrible idea... =P
dw1117says...FYI. This video can not do direct manipulating. If you click on it it'll take you to youtube. Doh.
