I'd say the surest and quickest way to protect these lands is to get the big pharmaceutical company's interest into these lands and get them to invest money here.

Of course, they'd want to monopolize in this thing and try to wipe out the competition by securing few specimen of these plants and burn the others. And also keeping the availability of research data and the product to better their means obviously. Well, what can ya do. You got any better idea to save this place faster than this method?
