Cops Pulled Over Drunk Driving And Armed, Driven Home

Cincinnati police Capt. Amanda Caton and her husband Patrick, also a Cincinnati officer, were visibly and audibly drunk and both armed when Loveland police pulled them over Sunday night. Caton was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, then driven home without taking a breath, blood, or even roadside sobriety test. I don't know about Ohio, but in California, refusing the tests is the same as admitting guilt and you will not be driven home, you go directly to jail and your car to impound and your license is revoked automatically.

Patrick Canton was allowed to leave the scene drunk and armed and walk home, even after being belligerent and aggressive towards the officers arresting his wife. The arresting officers never even asked him for his weapon they knew he had, after mentioning several times that it was a felony for him to possess it.
It's a felony to be in possession of a firearm while intoxicated in Ohio.

The arresting officers personally parked their car for them instead of impounding it which is standard procedure.

Upon driving Amanda home, Patrick met them outside and again was belligerent and physically aggressive while still drunk and armed, but was not charged with a thing, not detained, and not shot dead like any citizens would have been under identical circumstances.

The arresting officer repeatedly tells them on camera that he can't let them go because the stop has been recorded, but he won't charge them with the felonies they undeniably committed, indicating that had he known they were police before the stop, he would have turned off his dashcam and made the whole incident go unreported, but since it's been recorded he can't. Neither is ok with that, clearly outraged that another cop would dare to pull them over for drunk driving with only 4 blocks to go, asking doesn't it matter that they're cops?

One law for citizens, another entirely different standard for fellow cops. This is a prime example of cops covering for other cops to the best of their ability, apologizing for not being able to let them go scott free.
