rougysays...I'm not bashing this vid. I like it.
But conical glasses are basically champagne glasses, and they're supposed to be deceptively sized to keep people from over-drinking and not feeling like they're getting gypped.
Grimmsays...*requeue
siftbotsays...Re-queueing this video for one more try; last queued Saturday, October 13th, 2007 5:53am PDT - requeue requested by submitter Grimm.
rottenseedsays...hahaha you can't stop people from over drinking by just tricking them into thinking they're drinking more than they are. If it takes me 8 of those to get drunk, you'd better believe that I'm downing 14 of them. If it only takes me 3 to get drunk, I'm probably STILL gonna down 14...point is, me gets drunkses.

Aren't these more like cocktail glasses...martini's, manhattan's, etc...? I don't think it has anything to do with protecting people from "over-drinking". Look at all the other alcohol beverages with as much or more alcohol that are not served in these glasses. I do agree that it has to do with the customer not feeling like they are getting gypped as it's obviously easier to over charge for a drink when it looks like you are getting more then you actually are. What do you think the customers response would be for any other drink (alcohol or non) if it was brought to them half empty?
rougysays...Hey - you guys are right.
They just look more like champagne glasses to me.
It's sort of like how people snort coke off of mirrors - it looks like you're snorting more, so you don't snort as much.
kingsbloodsays...I'll ask for my next manhattan in a mug.
youdiejoesays...May I have my Martini Bong please...
AeroMechanicalsays...It's pretty obvious with these glasses. What I don't like is the cocktail glasses that are more-or-less cylindrical on the outside, but with a considerably smaller conical cavity within. Often the thick glass at the base of the, er, glass is shaped so as to magnify the image making it appear as though the base is full of liquor. I'm sure you've seen them. They're pretty standard issue at bars.
Linzsays...Whatevs, martinis still average the highest ratio of alcohol to filler for your hard-earned $$, no matter what shape glass they come in. Yes please!
shatterdrosesays...What surprises me is that people didn't already realize that. But then again, this is coming from the person who owns 2 cups total . . . cause if it came in a bottle, why buy cups?
thehelixsays...On the rocks!

I propose mirrors are used because it's easiest to make 'lines' on the gauranteed smooth, non-porous surface of a mirror or glass, thereby avoiding the loss of any cocaine powder to areas where it may potentially deposit and remain unsnorted.
What.
