Carl Sagan - Cosmos 10 - The Edge of Forever

"Dr. Sagan leads us on some awesome trips — to a time when galaxies were beginning to form, to India to explore the infinite cycles of Hindu cosmology, and to show how humans of this century discovered the expanding universe and its origin in the big bang.

He disappears down a black hole and reappears in New Mexico to show us an array of 17 telescopes probing the farthest reaches of space."

I miss Carl.

I feel in this age, he'd be a tremendous voice for reason against religious idiocy. Not that Dawkins isn't brutally logical, but Carl was just so kind and likable. I feel he would have been more effective in our recent debates...

ponceleon, i totally agree. i hope we make it through all of this. although logic is invaluable, it need to be presented in a sensitive manner for people to not respond with defensiveness and negative emotion.

i don't have the knowledge to be the person to deliver a message like his to the world once again, but hopefully just by using logic and kindness in our everyday lives we can spread carl's message & ethos
