The republicans are getting desperate. Today on the radio I heard a story which claims that Obama is secretly going to lower the definition of high-income from the $250k that has been made famous by Joe the Plumber, to $100k (per person). Mind you, there was no source for this, no clip of anyone actually saying anything that sounded remotely like this, etc.

This is the problem when "freedom of the press" does not have any checks and balances whatsoever.

The HOAX part of this story has received 1/10th the coverage of the supposed event. Case in point: people are still talking about "Obama supporters attacking McCain supporters" whereas you don't hear nearly as many references to this bull.

Clearly the McCain camp was PRAYING this was real. Now that it turns out it was a big lie, they are running for the hills.

Hey McCain, how about you call her back now and tell her something publicly about how derranged she is? Oh, right, now that she's no longer helping your campaign, you aren't going to mention this at all....

Edit: don't you love how in her arrest pictures, the black eye has magically disappeared?

The exact same situation, except reversed and TRUE, and Obama took the high road and didn't turn it into a campaign issue.

When it is SO DAMNED CLEAR that McCain's camp tried to turn this bullshit into a political issue, why is the media not coming down on him like a pile of bricks?
