"Order 17 granted a sweeping immunity to all contractors in [Iraq] to any prosecution under Iraqi law. In other words, you could walk up, if you're a contractor, to an Iraqi, and shoot them in the head. And there's not a thing an Iraqi court can do."

"I don't see how this system is defensible, where we have billions of dollars of taxpayer money going to fund corporations whose entire livelihoods are built of of the escalation of war and conflict"

The more they escalate the war, the more money they make. The incentive structure is not right for privatization.
