My son INSISTED that I post this. From uploader: I bought my dog Beverly some new puppy boots to protect her feet in the snow. She didn't really take to them. She's a superstar, though, and she did all her own stunts in the movie.

Some dogs aren't built for the cold, and some places are really freaking cold. Not sayin' they're necessarily necessary in this case, but still.
