One of Steppenwolf's best songs, even though it is definitely outside of their normal style (possibly because it was written by Hoyt Axton). In so many ways, John Kay's voice was -made- for songs like this...and they surely should have done a few more "unplugged" songs.

Thanks for posting this. I loved Steppenwolf when I was a kid, learning to play guitar. This album Steppenwolf 7 was a big influence on me, I still crank up the guitar solo in Renegade.
