Band of Brothers: Lt. Speirs takes command of Easy Company

During a battle near Foy, Easy company's leader, Lt. Dike, suffers a breakdown and is replaced by 1st. Lt. Ronald Speirs. He successfully takes over the assault and leads Easy Company to victory.
EDDsays...

The account of Lt. Spiers' run through the German lines and back in Foy is historically and factually accurate, if only somewhat dramatized and emotionally exaggerated. I can't find links to back it up ATM, but I remember researching this episode and reading up on this on several websites.

Also, Winters has stated that Spiers just happened to be the first officer in his sight when the order came to replace Dike and that it had nothing to do with Spiers' reputation.

Seriously fucking amazing feat to accomplish though.
