OK, I get where he's coming from. But the bloke didn't know that Ray was carrying out their pact. That doesn't sit right with me either. If it was a plan, then make it a plan that everyone can know about. It's about living above reproach. Ray set himself up very poorly to defend his actions - legally, not necessarily morally. But legally, I think he's very screwed, and I can see why.
