rougysays...Geese are very aggressive when their young are threatened. I wouldn't doubt that there were some gozlings nearby, or maybe some nests.

silvercordsays...He actually hits the deck? While I really appreciate that he didn't want to hurt one of these birds, he could have done so easily. At 6' tall and 200 pounds we are one of the most formidable animals on the planet. Sometimes you gotta remember that. (not that this was one of those occasions).

In a sense you are correct - but just for grins, I dare you to find a flock of geese and wade into their midst, or get near their little ones.
It is not a pleasant experience. And their reflexes are...I would guess...2x faster than ours, at least.
silvercordsays...rougy - seriously, a flock of geese could intimidate, but they are hardly going to peck you to death. If this guy had decided to do so, he'd be eating pate tonight.
