Multiple Pug Head Tilts!

sharkie says...

Yeah, they tilt the head because they are trying to hear better, presumably so they can understand you.

My dog did this all the time when I would say something like that. You can just see what they're thinking - 'Did she say walk? I thought she said walk. Say that again. Walk? Walk? ...'

Why do they do this? It's cute for us humans because the head tilt in analogous to the one might do if we don't quite understand something.
Is it really the same thing?
Here's another one with the most severe head tilt I've seen yet:

I'm not sure if this applies to all pugs, but mine seem to do this whenever I'm talking to them and they can't see my mouth, when they hear people over the speaker phone, or talking on the TV, as if they do it to try and locate the source of the sound.

Octopussy (Member Profile)

Definitely sea lions and dolphins in mexico...time for a change of the ol' avatar. Maybe the coolest was a seahorse, but I didn't have a camera and no one felt like responding to my flailing limbs to come see...

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
I saw a few of them (we were really lucky) last year at the Galapagos and they're indeed incredible (like a bus going by u/w).

Btw, don't tell anybody, but -- so far -- I've never managed to get a crab drunk, so my avatar is not my own pic either.

So what is the coolest creature you did have a close encounter with (and do you have pics)?

In reply to this comment by sharkie:
It's actually not my pic, sadly. As a diver I have seen a lot of cool creatures, but I am absolutely dying to see one of these myself!

In reply to this comment by Octopussy:
Is that avatar your own pic? If so, it's mighty impressive: where did you take it? If not, why did you choose a whale shark (asks Octopussy who has the lamest avatar evar)?
