Myslingsays...This series reminded me very much of the graphic novel Blankets by Craig Thompson, detailing his own journey from childhood to adulthood, and the effect his transition to atheism had on his view on life.
I highly recommend it to anyone, and hope some of you are curious enough to look it up
That being said, I never stumbled upon congruism before, but I am really fascinated by the concept now. Would upvote twice if I could

No, he's atheist. He doesn't believe that god exists.
When he says that if god appeared before him, he would believe - it's my understanding that he is simply trying to express the point that his journey has been defined by reason, logic, and evidence (including personal experience)... and it is to those characteristics that his loyalty lies. If god appeared in front of him, it would become part of his personal experience and would then need to be considered as evidence in his life.
I think this is what he meant.
blankfistsays...Agnostic means uncertainty in knowing or not knowing. Gnostic means knowing.
So most likely he's an agnostic atheist as there cannot be a gnostic atheist or theist.

I think it was Socrates who started that whole thing.
