KrupoCityTV were asses but they were trying to prove a point.
The law is such that you're not shoplifting until you leave the store with the product. You can jam it up your rectum as long as you take it out by the time you get to the cash.
This was hardly a scientific experiment, though, which is why I call them asses. One afternoon video shoot isn't enough to prove a point, except in sensationalistic terms.
Upvote for trying - thanks for coming out kids - scorn for the amateur-ness of their field study.
messengerHuh? They aren't purporting to be scientists. I though they were initially just seeing who would get all up in arms, as they did in the cell phone one, but they happened to stumble upon a pattern worth reporting.
KrupoSorry, I just have a grudge against the B-list reporters at City. They owe me a blank CD after I graciously shared photage of this bomb scare downtown.
Not much of a revelation to learn that people won't necessarily report shoplifters - it's like the old story about the woman getting attacked in downtown NYC and no one calling the police because everyone assumes someone else will do it.

Krupo*save this vid from *Canada ... does TV reporting qualify as *1sttube?
siftbotSaving this video from the discard pile and sending it back to the queue for one more try; last queued Friday, March 2nd, 2007 1:31pm PST - save requested by Krupo.
Adding video to channels (1sttube, Canada) - requested by Krupo.
MINKyup, unscientific and sensationalist, even if there's probably a grain of truth to it.
it would be more shocking if he was reported for being "suspicious looking", as opposed to reported for stuffing food in his pockets, and i bet that woman featured would have reported the other two as well.
twiddlesjunk. there is no pattern in that video. and even if there was what would be the point. now if they would have played that on some unsuspecting store detectives and gotten a similar result then you would have something worth raising eyebrows over.
loorisWell that's a smart law, I totally agree!
Drachen_Jagersays...I actually ratted out a white guy to the store clerks in a convenience store once... So it's not universal.
