Deanosays...Er, what? They turn around and run cos they get a little hot? I guess they don't they don't want to explain how that one works or for how long.
mysdrialsays...I still want to know what happens when the device is used on an individual that can not flee. IE, unconscious or wounded. What are the longterm consequences of exposure? They always say "it's unpleasant, so people move out of the beam" but if they CAN'T move?
Sylvester_Inksays...More info can be found here.
There's actually quite a bit of research going into making it as nonlethal as possible, as well as making sure there are no longterm effects. (There have been worries that it may cause cancer, etc.)
Also, with regard to the concerns about unconscious individuals/people that can't move, note that it's not actually causing any sort of damage in any way. It's basically heating the water molecules that have contact with the nerves, making the sensation very acute, yet not actually doing much at all. In other words, it will NOT cause damage to these unconscious people, as they wouldn't even feel the pain. It's also important to note that it wouldn't be used for prolonged periods, only for short flashes.
schmawysays...So much for America's long traditon of protesting. They promise they won't use it on the "free speach zones" i'm sure.

darksunsays...Ok, you can't downvote a VIDEO because of the title. That's just stupid.
