ELeesays...Interesting to watch the progression of alerts on each station, with fairly specific maps. It takes a couple minutes, but even the fishing show eventually switches over. Combined with their automated internet and text message alerts, the Japanese have a pretty responsive earthquake alert system - far better than in the US.

TrancecoachIt's interesting how the aesthetic of the video changes as the vapid content of commercials and daytime soap operas shifts over to the immanent danger bearing down on Japan's coastline. At first, I thought how interesting it is to be watching 6 stations at once, and then I felt the feelings shift as human mortality came under threat.

mxxconseems like NHK really have their shit together and showed the alert much earlier than anybody else.
and lower left one for a moment was showing empty desks sliding around and then switched back to their "regularly scheduled program". And then they showed alert map sponsored by 7/11?
To me, it looks like here in US, NHK is a major winner in rating and mind-share awareness. Almost every video clip I see is coming from NHK..
