rosser99says...I just saw this movie for the first time a few months ago, and the pacing of it was so odd to me. I've played in the pit orchestra for this show 3 or 4 times, so that is the setup I was used to. When I watched the movie, there was hardly any music in the first hour, and then all the music was in succession at the end. Movie pacing in the 30s always catches me off guard.
rougy^ I've noticed that with older movies, too.
I sometimes think it's because they were still making a few films in New York, or that the New York studios had only recently moved to California, and everything is so much faster in New York, especially the pace.
