24 Hours of Air Traffic as seen by the FAA

Aaron Koblin of Design|Media Arts, UCLA, has done a range of pretty awesome graphical depictions of U.S. air traffic flow data; this is a montage of scenes from several different ones. It's interesting that the density is sufficient to make out geography, even though all you're looking at is aircraft.
