Great sci-fi can open our minds to fantastic and bizarre possibilities. When I first saw this clip in 1997, I sat up in my seat and exclaimed, "No WAY!!!"

Another sit-up-in-your-seat moment was on ST: Voyager where the Doctor replaced Neelix's stolen lung with a holographic lung ("The Phage"). I'd always seen holographics on ST as objects to interact with outside the body, but not inside it. Crazy stuff.
