Professional Free-skier and B.A.S.E. jumper, Karina Hollekim was born in 1976 and is still the only woman who ever completed a ski B.A.S.E. She is Norway's only professional B.A.S.E. jumper and an exponent of B.A.S.E. jump aerials, including the misty flip.
Karina's skill, fearlessness, struggles and successes have been recorded in several films, including "20 Seconds of Joy," "Fatima's Hand," "Tangerine Dream," "Anomaly," "Endless Winter," "4th Street," "Override," and "Live a Little Radix."
In August 2006, a failed parachute jump led to a severe accident, causing four fractures in her left leg, 21 in her right, bone grafts and a serious infection in her right leg. Despite this setback, Karina has taken the incident with the same determination and courage with which she has faced life. Karina is still in recovery and is looking forward to the moment when she will once again approach the mountains. In the meantime, she is traveling and speaking, motivating others the impossible is possible.
