19 year old elected mayor of Muskogee, Oklahoma

Fed up with a former two-term mayor that many complained was in bed with special interests, the town of Muskogee--population 38,000--elected a fresh face. The new mayor, 19 year old John Tyler Hammnons, is a college freshman, clearly not ever having been in bed with special interests (probably never having been in bed with anyone at all). He won in a landslide, taking 70% of the vote.

That's actually sort of cool. He seems like a busy bee too, so he's got that going. Not yet too corrupted by the political system, is also a plus.

Wow, thats crazy, didnt think it'd be possible, but well.... guess it is.

he almost go himself in a lot of trouble there with the whole "us vs. them" statement - which then led him to putting out that there are latinos and african-americans in the "microchasm".
