Obama - "It's like these guys take pride in being ignorant"

MINK says...

Will he say "stop eating meat"???

No.

he said fucking fill your tyres up and keep drivin.

He's getting worse and worse, and dangerously close to reminding me of the film Idiocracy.

Hit By Lightning Caught on Tape and the nasty results

NordlichReiter says...

If you get struck out side of a car you would want it to flow through you and into the ground... not just circulate around your body.

BTW I don't think a lightning strike will let you survive, it is rare and this video is a troll(Fake).

BTW most electrical damage to the body involves massive burning and entry and exit wounds, thats... if you are grounded. You better hope you are grounded because if you aren't its not going to be good.

Surely the point is you don't want to be grounded!?! If you are grounded, electricity flows THROUGH you to the ground. If you aren't grounded, it won't. Eg: Being sat in a car, the rubber tyres insulate the car and prevent it being grounded.
Oh and fake IMO, I don't think there is any way a camera would survive a lightning hit to make the film recoverable. Magnetic tape would probably burn and a digital one would never survive.

Stupid driver or attempted murder?

10722 says...

Hmn. .yes, the front tyres aren't spinning the right way for trying to reverse (assuming front wheel drive).

The rear wheels look totally locked.. suggesting use of the handbrake (I guess removing any chance of gaining traction at the rear = stupid driver).

The front wheels are bound to rotate if you aren't braking and are travelling forwards down a hill.

Classic "Fanner 50" Shooten-Shell Cap Pistol, by Mattel

Tank Car Implosion Goodness--(short)

10089 says...

@notarobot:

Thats acutally a quite logical phenomenon: Pressure effects get worse as your sizes increase.
Thats the reason bicycle-tyres have higher pressure then the ones of cars...

What they did is heating up the air inside the car, and then closing it. This can be easily done by just burning a big blowtorch inside until all the air has been replaced by hot combustion gases.

If they get the temperature to 300C (not that hard), and close it, after cooling their will be a pressure of 5 tons per m^2. Which is a lot. For a vacuum tank this size, i would use walls of solid steel, at lest 2cm thick.

Edit: should have read the description of the original movie: The reason for the pressure differential here was just by the emptying: per meter of "falling height" of the liquid (might be a lot when filling an underground tank), there is one ton/m^2 pressure on the walls of the tank. Different reasom, same effect.

How the World's Strongest Tire is made.

10722 says...

The construction process is very interesting.

And I like how they hype everything up needlessly.

America's (sorry, "WORLD'S")strongest tyre, strongest digger type thing and BIGGEST hauler and most amount of soil anywhere!

The critical part of the operation: the elite team of tyre builders carefully check every square inch. Should they see any moulding imperfection, they swiftly address it [with what looks like a little scraper thing to me...]

The Catch: Manning to Tyree

uhohzombies says...

NORMAL? You obviously don't follow the game, so you probably shouldn't have even commented unless you're trolling. Both Manning and Tyree deserve a ton of credit for making that play; for evading the almost inevitable sack, the pressure throw, leaping catch, and completely unorthodox way Tyree held that ball for dear life against his helmet as he came down (he's lucky it wasn't pass incomplete). A "miracle" play, if I've ever seen one.

First Crusade: 1095 on command of pope Urban II.
Semlin/Hungary 6/24/96 thousands slain. Wieselburg/Hungary 6/12/96 thousands.
9/9/96-9/26/96 Nikaia, Xerigordon (then turkish), thousands respectively.
Until Jan 1098 a total of 40 capital cities and 200 castles conquered (number of slain unknown)
after 6/3/98 Antiochia (then turkish) conquered, between 10,000 and 60,000 slain. 6/28/98 100,000 Turks (incl. women & children) killed.
Here the Christians "did no other harm to the women found in [the enemy's] tents - save that they ran their lances through their bellies," according to Christian chronicler Fulcher of Chartres.
Marra (Maraat an-numan) 12/11/98 thousands killed. Because of the subsequent famine "the already stinking corpses of the enemies were eaten by the Christians" said chronicler Albert Aquensis.
Jerusalem conquered 7/15/1099 more than 60,000 victims (jewish, muslim, men, women, children).
(In the words of one witness: "there [in front of Solomon's temple] was such a carnage that our people were wading ankle-deep in the blood of our foes", and after that "happily and crying for joy our people marched to our Saviour's tomb, to honour it and to pay off our debt of gratitude")
The Archbishop of Tyre, eye-witness, wrote: "It was impossible to look upon the vast numbers of the slain without horror; everywhere lay fragments of human bodies, and the very ground was covered with the blood of the slain. It was not alone the spectacle of headless bodies and mutilated limbs strewn in all directions that roused the horror of all who looked upon them. Still more dreadful was it to gaze upon the victors themselves, dripping with blood from head to foot, an ominous sight which brought terror to all who met them. It is reported that within the Temple enclosure alone about ten thousand infidels perished."
Christian chronicler Eckehard of Aura noted that "even the following summer in all of palestine the air was polluted by the stench of decomposition". One million victims of the first crusade alone.
Battle of Askalon, 8/12/1099. 200,000 heathens slaughtered "in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ".
Fourth crusade: 4/12/1204 Constantinople sacked, number of victims unknown, numerous thousands, many of them Christian.
Rest of Crusades in less detail: until the fall of Akkon 1291 probably 20 million victims (in the Holy land and Arab/Turkish areas alone).
