Shameless product placement on TV
@spoco2
Anything worth watching gets canceled or threatened anymore. And they wonder why they have trouble keeping certain demographics when they only keep the teen-angst drama stuff, CSI, and game shows.
Ever notice they also have big surges of similar TV shows debuted every year? One year it's lots of cop shows. Next year it's medical. I've always wondered why they don't try .....alternative their releases so they aren't all putting out the same "new" themed shows.

Oh and thanks for the upgrades @lucky760. Next time might be zooming and enhancing upgrades....videosift CSI.
MIT laser/camera "sees" around corners
so now CSI will be able to really see things in reflections in peoples eyes or what ... jk
More CSI bullshit: Digital Zoom
A day of victory for CSI... with sensors installed this should allow viewing from multiple angles of hidden from primary angle to recreate data where there is none, IE off of the property or purview of normal surveillance for a building...

Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) Reads Some Erotic Harry Potter.
This is actually part of the reason I began to hate TV - pretty much all the fictional crime shows, e.g. Law & Order, CSI devote a lot of time to 'solving' child porn/rape/murder/torture cases. It's easy to sit there at first and go, wow they were really smart in how they solved that case. But after the umpteenth show devoted to such topics you start to realise that the writers of these shows are actually appealing to an inbuilt morbid human curiosity about this type of thing. It gets viewers - and it makes me feel stupid sitting there feeling like I'm supposed to accept that this is what I should enjoy. So in this case I agree with spoco2, purely because there's no reason to drag kids into it, regardless of legality, they could have easily chosen something more appropriate.
Dude Jumps A Chevy K5 Blazer 70 feet - YEE HAW!!!
He clears a little over 3 lengths (I think--shit I'm no CSI expert).
I'm handy with Visual Basic. I'll see if I can throw something together to enhance this.

>> ^AeroMechanical:
As I'm seeing it, from the point the rear wheels left the ground to where they touched the ground again was easily 70 feet.
The specified length of a Chevy K5 Blazer is 184.8 inches--or 15.4 ft.
He clears a little over 3 lengths (I think--shit I'm no CSI expert).

really what we're talking about here is insanely increasing the resolution of the original photo to begin with, so the manipulation software isnt the issue... maybe you have video technology that takes multiple levels/layers/scenes and can on demand get that data... thats more of an issue with the recording technology then analyzing.

5/2010
Researchers at the University of Toronto have come up with a new video camera that can achieve infinite depth of field even when objects are immediately in front of the camera. What they did was stuff an array of video cameras into a single camera, with each camera focused at a different distance.

"Brain activity evoked by the second set of clips was used to test the movie reconstruction algorithm. This was done by feeding 18 million seconds of random YouTube videos into the computer program so that it could predict the brain activity that each film clip would most likely evoke in each subject. Finally, the 100 clips that the computer program decided were most similar to the clip that the subject had probably seen were merged to produce a blurry yet continuous reconstruction of the original movie"

So maybe you just need to find a witness then you can read their minds! Blows the incredulity over CSI out of water.
Bronn vs Ser Vardis Egan (Game of Thrones)
No no, you're thinking of CSI. A book is something you see in a cinema.

Also @harpom...what the fuck is a book? Is it on tv?

Rofl. Note to self. Dont post when low on sleep. Meant to say fictional.

You do realize the show is fact right?

You know what I also "love" about CSI Miami?
the fact that the guys from the lab, who for all intents and purposes are public workers, have Humvee's as their official work cars. One of the least efficient motor vehicles ever made, and not exactly cheap. No wonder the US is about to default! lol
