Jesus fuck….these morons you vote for, who vehemently oppose keeping the irs staffed and want to cut its workforce by 90000 are at the same time complaining on the floor how SLOW the irs is, that it can take months to get assigned an agent, and near a year to get a refund in many cases….but they don’t want to hire more workers, they want to drive off those that are left by removing their ability to telecommute and work from home. They are pretending that working from home is not working at all, but vacation.

I think their constituents would be shocked to see how much telecommuting the Republican representatives themselves do, especially if you consider it vacation.
More dishonest blame games over the repercussions of their own actions. More totally hypocritical stupidity. More “Do as we say, not as we do” because the right thinks rules and laws don’t apply to them….to paraphrase you, “only a fool would follow the law if it hurts them to do so”.

Typical daily hypocritical dishonest nonsense from your ilk, the most dishonest group of people to ever stain the planet.

In case you aren’t aware, this is one more red herring to distract you from their refusal to increase the debt ceiling unless they get their way, because tanking the economy doesn’t matter one bit to them….they’ll just blame Biden and idiots like you will agree.

517000 jobs in January. Something else they’re trying to distract you from….the fastest covid recovery of any country’s economy thanks to relief for lower income citizens after the worst economic fall from Covid while Trump denied Covid and gave handouts to millionaires.

High School Senior Takes Book Banners To School

luxintenebris jokingly says...

THE FITNESS OF THE ARGUMENT
sure it's up to the public to scan each and every book to insure that kids aren't exposed to harmful material. gee if only there was a way to hire someone professional to do this.

- most librarians are parents themselves. can 'we' trust they know their business? after all, THEY went to school to EDUCATE themselves to KNOW the difference.

WHAT INDOCTRINATION IS:
- can there be a better example of who are the baddies in this regard? book banning is akin to book burning. i.e. the milieu of Adolph, Mao, and the 'Kim' family...so*through clenched teeth* what the f*ck do think 'indoctrination' IS?!!! the r e m o v a l of books is the attempt of controlling minds NOT KEEPING VERY GOD DAMN BOOK ON THE SHELF!!! note the examples.

WHY IT'S FEEBLE EXCUSE
most parents haven't fallen for this tactic 'cause they know it's more of an attempt to divide than a drive of the divine. this ruse tried to get a foothold here but ran into a brilliant educational administration. they sent out flyers for parents to sign so THEIR kid(s) could access the school library at will. OTHERWISE the god-gifted had to preapprove any book for THEIR children. (Imagine it was a lot of paperwork [& actually parenting] for them. heh-heh)

FINAL MIC DROP

THEN

tell me about your fears of INDOCTRINATION.

Hello! Please regard this as a passionate plead for understanding & less of a personal attack. Can't help the *tartness* - as your belief is more awful than my tone. & don't know everything, but obviously more than thou when it comes to this subject.

EMTs charged with murder

robdot says...

An emt ,and a paramedic ,are 2 totally different things. The headline says emt. But the newscaster says paramedic. There is a significant license and education level between those 2.

I don’t believe these 2 are paramedics. Often an ambulance would have one medic and one emt. Who really just drives the medic around and hands him stuff.

Neither of these 2 look like medics to me. So,there is a question as to why this squad has no medic on board.

Has Woke Culture Has Gone Too Far

newtboy says...

Dishonest drivel by ridiculous ignorami who talk like snobby arrogant 12 year olds with a chip on their shoulders.

Really….he claims indoor plumbing is a major climate change driver, or a symbol of “wokeness”? Wtf is he talking about? More proof that he’s simply rambling nonsense to a crowd or braying morons in suits applauding every insult of the left, not making any valid points.

If enough people press that button to do everything to save their child at all costs without a thought to consequences, every child in the next generation has 5 times the likelihood of not surviving his first year, button or no, and the next 10 times the death rate, and the next 25times….and if everyone pushes that button, it guarantees a near 100% infant death rate this century. There are many ways to improve infant mortality rates without adding to greenhouse emissions….the best being STOP HAVING CHILDREN YOU CANNOT SUPPORT or FEED.

Undeveloped India is going to largely dissolve before they advance technologically. Over 2/3 of the water in that region comes from glaciers….glaciers in many cases expected to be gone completely by 2030. That’s almost 2 billion people suddenly with no water source. There is no technological way to replace that amount of water, never mind the money and energy. Therefore the India and China emission issues he claims are upcoming will likely largely solve themselves as they will be the spearhead of the first major wave of our extinction.

BTW, the comatose (the un-woke) admitted they actually want to ban women in red states from traveling legally because they could get in a car and drive/move to a state where abortion is legal….and they know their HUGELY unpopular plan to make an anti abortion federal law (funny it’s no longer a states rights thing) is a non starter.
So much for freedom.
They also are moving to ban contraception, sodomy, homosexuality, literally any sex that doesn’t lead to unwanted children except heterosexual sex with pre-pubescent girls….they’re in favor of THAT, and have written multiple bills attempting to legalizing it.

Not everything….my portfolio is growing quite a bit, not shrinking by 63% this year. It grew almost 3% today alone….how about yours?
You mean that “covid dip” when it rose to 400 per share during covid and you were screaming “buy! Go all in now!”? ROTFLMFAHS! WTF are you talking about?
Tesla sells the vast majority of its cars to liberals. Tesla has massively turned off liberals (35% positive to under 10% positive) right as other options came on the market, and gotten slightly more popular (20% positive up to 25%) among conservatives who unfortunately for Tesla don’t buy electric cars. Tesla is unlikely to ever get most back. You should understand, Tesla’s days of near monopoly are over, Musk has to sell tens of billions of Tesla stock to pay his debts, which will drive it MUCH lower. You’ll be lucky if it ever gets this good again….and it’s guaranteed to go lower soon. It’s a good time to short, not buy.
FYI- Tesla cut prices by 9%+- in China, and $4k in the US because it seems so many preordered cars have had their orders cancelled and there’s a glut of unsold cars. Not exactly the booming business predicted. That 50% growth is sounding wildly optimistic right now….because today they’re shrinking. 🤦‍♂️

Jan 6 hearings were bi partisan. MAGgot Republicans didn’t want an independent investigation, and all but boycotted this one. No whining now, you asked to be left out.
To paraphrase Roger Stone…You lost. Democracy won. Fuck you. No. You lost. Fuck you!
The insurrection was a one sided seditious act, and a circle jerk by morons. It would be impossible to not find any crimes to refer. What they found is way more than enough to put him in prison for life.
Funny how you LOVE one sided investigations of liberals, like all 12 Clinton investigations, and the planned Hunter Biden investigation (that is a pure partisan one sided planned congressional investigation of a private citizen…a real nothing burger) and all the moronic “investigations “ that are the totality of the Republican platform, but denounce bipartisan investigations of Cons as “one sided”. Pick one. Are one sided investigations just theater? Then call out all the MAGA theater. Are they serious and legitimate? Then find a new baseless fantasy accusation against the Jan 6 committee.

Naaa, friendo. Me and the official ANTIFA organization go to battle fully naked covered in vaseline and glitter. Makes it impossible to keep hold of us, and forces uncomfortable explanations when our enemies get home to their wives sweaty, covered in Vaseline and glitter claiming they were at work!

150 and falling just like everything else. Fud not helping but a great time to buy... I still expect it to go lower. Im sitting in cash.. If I were to buy today I would pick up an extra 1500 shares. FYI TESLA firing on all cylinders 50% growth YoY expected. These opportunities only come around every decade or so. The 2020 Covid dip was also a great time to take advantage of . Did you? I did.

The globe is in a recession not just Tesla -- Compare to Amazon and see.
Average recession lasts 18 months. Q1/Q2 2023 will be worse.

Jan 6 hearings was 1 sided -- a circle jerk committee . I would be surprised id the "didn't" find anything to refusal......... Just BS

Tesla driver loses control as car speeds down street

newtboy says...

That’s Tesla’s position…but no.

The man had been complaining about the brakes not working properly for months according to his family (yet kept driving, making him culpable imo).

It’s easily possible his brake sensor failed on the pedal, then there would be no light. Since I assume, to be capable of autopilot, Tesla brakes are by wire/electrical, not hydraulic, a simple sensor failure means no brakes at all and no brake lights. (And no record that he hit the brakes)

Again, never once heard of a panic pedal misidentification lasting 1/2 that long. Possible, but unlikely. 99/100 of pedal misidentification are well under 1 second mistakes during parking. There have been many reports of throttle sticking/ accelerating without throttle input in teslas.

Since Tesla denies fault EVERY TIME NO MATTER WHAT, and hides the vast majority of driver assisted crashes, I’ll wait for the third party investigation, but on the surface, to me, it looks like a software (or hardware) failure….and that’s what the driver says too.

bcglorf said:

Not that I want to be siding with the corporation, but I'm inclined to believe that at least the brake lights would've remained connected to pressing the brake pedal, no?

And... not seeing any brake lights in that video, it looks like driver error and then panic.

Why American and European Trucks Are So Different

luxintenebris says...

as long as the driver has a large-mouth bottle, all american trucks have toilets.*

did read that there was a correlation between bladder cancer & truck drivers. was surmised, that holding your toilet had a part in the troubles. maybe, will have a definitive answer when amazon workers start having the same issues.

also many uti's.

read this reading up on school bathroom policies. a lot of uti's & colon-related problems - kids' tracts lose the ability to feel the urge & end up w/constipation and incontinent issues - in schools w/"hold it or lose recess" rules. (special place in hell, or the backyard, for those enforcers) - so the theory might hold water.

(a long drive for o̶n̶e̶ two puns.)

* "Most of us do carry pee bottles. But you have to stop to utilize them. I don't have enough hands to steer, shift, hold the bottle & direct Little Richard in the right direction all at the same time. Stopping to water the flowers is no longer an option, as it could lead to a sex criminal(sic) charge for indecent exposure."

So, today, Trump’s lawyers were sanctioned for filing frivolous lawsuits for Trump, likely to be disbarred. This is just the first of 11 plaintiffs sueing over the same frivolous lawsuit that the judge has already determined was filed in 100% bad faith with no evidence or crime as pure political theater, abusing the courts and defendants. She’s still facing well over $1 million in damages.

Also today, Trump admitted to allegedly abusing his federal powers to interfere in the Florida election in 2018. He’s saying this to 1) add fuel to his “elections are full of fraud” lie (no fraud found) and 2) to claim DeSantis couldn’t win without his interference, so definitely shouldn’t be the nominee.
So far it sounds like this is another pure tantrum lie from Trump, with no evidence he sent federal agents to “secure” any election in Florida. It is another indicator that he will abandon all rule of law if given another chance, and will illicitly interfere in elections.

Also, thin skinned snowflake Musk is driving Twitter into the ground quickly, driving off users, driving off advertising, firing critical staff, losing his executives, turning verification into a receipt for $8 and nothing else then losing his mind over parody pages, banning even clearly labeled parody, going full perma-ban over his hurt feelings, something he said he would outlaw when he bought it, tried but failed to bring back Trump. Sell your Tesla, he still owes over $40 billion, and all his money is Tesla stock, so he needs to take over $40 billion in cash out of his EV money pit to pay for the other unprofitable business he’s actively destroying at light speed.

...necessity is the mother of invention.

just the plethora of inventions the Nazis came up with to appease their desire for war, serves as examples [i.e. SERIOUS Government edict].

bad examples - but still.

also, why is the average soccer mom driving vans that outmuscle classic muscle cars? mandating higher MPG made for lighter cars. the drive for better fuel efficiency led to more power. more power in lighter vehicles.

almost like the popular conservative belief: things will work themselves out - if they have to - is halfway true.

so...

...the idea is if the U.S. taxes carbon emissions, companies will find a way to reduce them. the oil industry agreed it would work.

Everything About Irrigation Pivots (Farmers are Geniuses)

I just bought the home version, one of those small (20” long) tractor sprinklers that uses the hose to guide the front wheels of the tractor.
I’m a little disappointed these full size sprinklers don’t use the water flow to drive the wheels like I always thought they did, but I’m sure that makes them much more tuneable and simple to “program”.

Brainwashed

moonsammy says...

Oops this turned into a semi rant. But I am legitimately open to discussion here, and am curious to get your thoughts on a few points Bob. That is, IF you're willing to actually think about them beyond the level of repeating talking points.

I find it interesting how divergent the two overall "sides" are in this country, in terms of where they focus. None of the issues brought up in this video are really on the radar of most progressives, beyond being aware some on the right are talking about them. And I'm guessing a lot of the concerns progressives discuss rarely come up in your chosen media landscape. A lot of the issues in the video are largely off of my radar, and I have to wonder how you feel they should be addressed - like, actual proposed solutions rather than just complaining about / worrying about them.

We only dedicate one day to remember our fallen soldiers

How many should there be? Arguably we have more than one already: there's Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and it seems that Sept 11th is often used for the purpose as well.

I'd argue we should spend more time acknowledging and understanding the principals behind WHY our soldiers died in the various conflicts which caused them to fall in the first place. Let's make sure our citizenry appreciates what we collectively rejected in the Revolutionary war. Why it was important that we kept the country together rather than allowing the south to split off in the mid-1800s. Why we chose to honor our diplomatic agreements and support our allies in WW1. Why we fought against the countries and governments we did in WW2. What our goals were in Korea and Vietnam, and what lessons we learned from those conflicts and from the Cold War in general. Commemorating and remembering those we've lost absolutely matters, but if we're ONLY doing that while forgetting why they fought OR ignoring what we learned then we're doing them an equal or greater disservice. Remember that America was built on the idea of forming "a more perfect union" - not a perfect one, a MORE perfect one - a work in progress. We're striving towards an ideal, not assuming we're already there. Learning from our past successes, failures, and our struggles around both outcomes is vital. If our self-analysis is no deeper than hero worship we'll never make real progress towards that theoretical perfect union.

The only mask that's gonna save us is duct tape on their mouths

Yeah, sound medical advice and evidence-based science is terrifying. Better to shut up those whose words we dislike, because we're reactionary authoritarian babymen. I truly do not understand being more afraid of reasonable safety measures than of a virus which has been shown to cause serious harm in the short and long terms. The only reason this "masks = liberal / maskless = conservative" crap came about is because politics has devolved to the level of team sports in the US, and one party has chosen "the opposite of whatever our political opponents say" as their entire governing philosophy. (And yes, ONE party - research and understand the GOP's 2020 platform if you want to argue the point.) This video even seems to reach a reasonable conclusion at the end, while coming up just short of that final logical leap to "maybe I should question what the public faces of MY side have been claiming in this Us vs Them madness." Seriously - keep going friend, you're almost there! George Washington was 100% right in wanting to avoid political parties being a force in the US, and it makes me immensely sad that his fears came true.

Big oil runs the world / the only wars to get fought are with the countries who have natural resources they want

Solid point here, no sarcasm. The US military has long been a tool of our profit-driven form of "free market" imperialism. A really great way to combat this, specifically with an eye to ending Big Oil's goddamn death grip on our foreign policy goals, would be an aggressive implementation of renewable energy projects. Remember the space race? America can be an absolute beast at clever engineering solutions when we dedicate ourselves to it. Fuck the petrostates, we have the available land and resources to absolutely kick ass in the realms of solar and wind power, and be leaders in the the post-hydrocarbon reality. We can certainly agree on that, right Bob? Left / Right nonsense fully aside, I think any reasonable American can agree on at least two points: let's stop sending heaps of cash to buy oil off of the Saudis (etc), and Fuck Cancer.

But if a white man acts too white he's white trash / he's a racist he's a bigot he's a monster

What the fuck is this horseshit? What does "acting too white" even fucking look like? Watching NASCAR on a sailboat while listening to polka? Typically when I see racism from white people it's in the form of denying that brown-hued people deal with any additional difficulties in life due to their skin tone, or denying that there have been structural obstacles for them through history, or lamenting that their white children are being burdened with a broader lens on culture or with (gasp! shock!) an accurate accounting of actual US history, including the ugly bits that we shouldn't be proud of (but MUST learn from). I'm progressive / lefty as fuck and there is no aspect of "white culture" or "acting white" which upsets me in the slightest. UNLESS one counts "denying racism exists / has ever existed" as a fundamental value of being white. Which... why would anyone want to claim that nonsense? If you want to listen to classic country music in a rusty pickup truck while driving to an evangelical church, then discuss hockey over Buds after 18 holes with the rest of your tractor pull team, then absolutely go nuts my fellow caucusoid! Just recognize and understand that your life experiences may not be the same as those of others. Further, if we care about trying to avoid unnecessary, avoidable unfairness in life (recognizing that life will never truly be fair, for anyone), then it might be reasonable for some governmental / legal / structural recognition in furtherance of that notion. There is absolutely room for legitimate policy disagreement here without being accused of racism. It's denial of others' reality which tends to garner the label of racist (sexist etc) - steer clear of denying the lived experiences of other people, allow for the possibility they may have encountered difficulties you haven't / won't, and we've room for further discussion.

Edit / final point: I voted the video back up to 0 from the -1 where I found it. Because while I disagree with a lot of the positions taken by the performer, they may have reached them through no fault of their own and with no true malice. Misinformation / disinformation is a devious shit of a motherfucker, and the rot it causes can run deep. It is painful to abandon deeply-held beliefs, on a fundamental level. If nothing else, the video gives us room to discuss some specific viewpoints held by people who think of themselves as good, but which can lead to harm.

Despotic Tyranny

newtboy says...

Bwaaaahahaha!

Propaganda? No sir, this is the definition of entrapment being used as a deterrent to voting against only Democrats, Republican counties exempted. Not one bit made up, like your red wave….another red tsunami coming to wipe out your dreams. How’d that work out last time? ROTFLMFAHS!! You sucker.
There’s a reason even Trump started calling fraud last week before voting started, he knows his candidates are major losers, the most insulting incapable mentally defective candidates ever put up for office. They lost you 100% of independents and nearly 25% of republicans, and are already driving democrats to the polls in record numbers for a midterm.

#walkaway is real this cycle….but it’s Republicans walking away by the thousands. I personally know many that, until 2016 voted Republican across the board every election no matter what. They will never vote Republican again after Trump. D’oh!

Edit: And let’s not forget this election happens in Roevember, and Republicans made the stupid decision to ignore the long held rights of the majority and legislate for the tiny minority. It’s going to cost you the under 35 vote, and the real “smaller government, more freedom” Republicans like my family who, had they not already left over Trump, would have left the party over abortion rights.

The party that fucked America is yours, buddy. Over 1/2 of inflation is due to corporate profits going up over 50% in the last 2 years. The other half is from Trump’s policy of printing money when he couldn’t get funding for his personal ego projects, and from spending trillions in 2020 while gdp went to negative 36%!

Statistically every prosecuted voter fraud case this decade has been against Trumpist cultists or Republican candidates, sucker. (DeSantis’s blatant, now determined by the courts to be entrapment notwithstanding). You guys fucked up election integrity, intentionally, because you cannot win fair free elections, and cannot accept your losses because you’re babies.

Tool of the party…..stop with the projection, dummy. No one has been as much of an unthinking dull tool as yourself. Proof? Ashley Babbitt, treasonous anti American that deserved to be shot dead….she destroys at least two of your idiotic party positions just by existing, that’s why you cower, hide like a frightened child from the question. You know your propaganda regurgitation painted you into a corner with your toxic spew.

This idiotic, desperate “democrats want communism” nonsense….you don’t even know what communism is, moron, and you can’t point to a single policy from democrats that supports this idiotic accusation….so I’ll ask…why are Republicans wanting communism? (Your baseless accusation against your enemies means you just admitted YOU want communism fast. Very reminiscent of Republicans calling investment in infrastructure “democracy destroying socialism” then rushing to Biden on their knees, mouths open wide, begging for some of that sweet sweet socialist jizz that’s just so delicious). Yes, I’m rubber, you’re glue, but only because you speak in projection from a place of intentional ignorance, and because it’s painfully obvious to those with brains that every accusation the right makes is an admission….like calling democrats “the party of debauchery” when Republicans get caught jerking it in public to kindergarten children while in their clear view.

Ashley Babbitt, I’m so glad that, by your cowardly silence, you admit your total hypocrisy and now say she deserved to be shot point blank along with every single MAGA terrorist “fucking with police” on Jan 6. and those leading them to it….all the MAGA traitors deserve a bullet in the head says Bob.

Republican Socialists

newtboy says...

Corporate profits are up 54% while labor costs are only up <8% over the last 18 months. What’s driving inflation again?
The largest refinery in America (and the Shell name and distribution rights) was sold to the Saudis in a non publicized deal in 2017, and they have reduced production and raised prices ever since. So much for the energy independence lie, even our oil in country was sold off to the Saudis. Thanks Trump.

For Biden to have control over the main driving factors, he would have to nationalize all industry. That is the answer to the current main driving factors of the current inflation rates. Severely limiting outrageous corporate profits would cut inflation by more than half. Is that what you advocate, or are you just lobbing blame at your enemies despite them having little involvement or control?

bobknight33 said:

Joe and his party has accelerated the American economy on a downward spiral.

The question is whats being done now to to correct the economy?

What is the answer?

Higher interest rates are not helping, not at the rate of change that has been put forth.
