Ask a cop if he wants a donut and he will choke you.
Just looked at my comment and well, I only half finished the thought before beddy time.
I meant to note that the oppressors I mentioned were the bad cops--not anyone here. Lol.

In another sift this video would have had the first minute removed with the title, "Man Chocked and Beaten by Six Cops at Public Library".
Actually, I am very happy with the number showing support their support by voting for this video. And dag was one of the first, which shows his balance rather well.
And even though Burg voted against this video--I think that had more to do with my Tags and "Comedy" channel than the actual content. (Which of course we talked about and I believe understand one another.)
I think everywhere you go there will be a clump of people who need help understanding that to hate is to wrong. Center, not left or right. Demand right, not expect wrong, especially if they are (sometimes) your oppressors.
There's been a small rash of cop videos that have a touch of misleading in their titles from a sifter I otherwise respect. My joke in my own head was referring directly to those sifts.
I'm not pro one side, or anti another. Wrongdoing can come from anywhere.. that's why there should be some care in declaring it.

I guarantee the cop in this situation felt like he was fighting for his life. More weight and in a police station or not, he was alone and the criminal definitely got the drop on him and was going for his gun, like you said. Scary situation.
So Fear would be a good channel? And I agree, he was shaken afterwards and you could see it. It is because everything turned out alright that I could breathe happily.

There's no comedy here. nochannel actionpack law fail
Not sure about the "crackhead" tag either. There's no context in this sift to suggest it.
To me the humor is in the irony--but I take your point burdturgler and completely accept it. Not comedy to others--i.e., what one finds funny may not be funny to everyone--so thanks burd.
Just the background on why I did place it in comedy. It's like someone's pants falling down unexpectedly--to me at least. I just think it humorous when someone attacks another person who weighs at least 3X his size; and the man isn't only stomach. If it is in response to a bully or some such, I can see picking a fight. But here?
Add that to where it was done. Definitely self-induced pants down moment. (I would have laughed the same if the midget cop had attacked a citizen the size of the big cop. In fact, I would have laughed harder.)

Jesus, I hope that's not really her. According to her bio, she's fifteen. And you know what that makes all of you, right?
More excited?

Police Brutality... Then the people fight back.
I think the point for those that say the wrong cop was beaten is that all of the police have to accept responsibility for their workmates action - they were all in close proximity to the guy using the baton, certainly close enough to see what happened and to stop it. The fact they didn't means some of that anger is justified.
In terms of the right course of action, that would involve a complaint to the police department, with the resulting outcome probably involving a tray of donuts and a slap on the wrist, nothing serious. I mean, don't forget that just because people speak a different language they don't have a grasp on justice, and that they don't use the internet. Perhaps some of them saw the video of the murder committed by the officer Ian D. Birk, or something worse, just recently.
At some point, your anger is going to become too great and you'll simply be thinking "fuck it, we'll do it live".
Ask a cop if he wants a donut and he will choke you.
There is a reason for five-on-one besides a lack of skill. One is so the criminal knows that while he is alone, the Law is not... Seriously, it is not a dual. Gangs maintain fear through the same tactics--unity. Second, the least amount of space the subject has, the least amount of force you have to use on him. In other words, block him off on all sides and immobilize him. On a side note, the kneeing itself may look roguish, but the reasoning behind it is sound. Pain compliance is always safer than trauma compliance. (The tazer uses a similar approach but is more prone to abuse. I.e., if I have to force you to let go of your car door, I may just break your elbow on accident, or harm your fingers or such... Kneeing, when not on the spine, does the same job.)
The one thing I will note is the bald douche who is trying to find a spot where he belongs (Which furthers your point about the five on one.) Dude, just realize that your in the way and back off...
>> ^bareboards2:
There may not have been stomping, but it looked like there was some "kneeing" going on.
I actually had a different response -- I was thinking, oh, cool, the one cop subdued the idiot using his training. And then it took five to finish the job (including the kneeing, that was mild or perhaps just my imagination)??? Really?
I'm not complaining. I just thought it was odd.
>> ^Lawdeedaw:
This is a perfect example of cops not taking it to the next level. When help arrived, he released the choke. Remember, the man reached for his gun. Cop was tiring out and that alone makes the response reasonable because of the potential to be overpowered. And there was no stomping at the end.
Slow Traffic, Keep Right
When cops stop me and ask, "you know why I pulled you over?" I always respond the same way.
"Because you thought I had donuts in here?"
Slow Traffic, Keep Right
Hey, they had donuts to go get, no time for stopping.
Obama Speaks Candidly on Unknown Open Mic

You gotta be brain damaged if you think that health care bill would have passed without Obama pushing congress. He worked his ass off, and like he said, paid a lot for it politically. He has earned the right to call it his.
You gotta be REALLY brain damaged to think there was any health care bill passed.
No health care bill was ever passed. There was a giant health insurance bill that mandates everyone pay corporations with nothing in return. That passed.
Tell me again about improved health care.
Sigh. Fine. I will tell you about improved health care.
1. An end to pre-existing conditions causing denial of coverage.
2. An end to recissions.
3. An end to lifetime benefit caps, and annual caps end in 2014.
4. Rebates to help close the prescription drug "donut hole".
5. Tax rebates for businesses with under 50 employees to offset the costs.
6. Children covered by parents insurance until age 27.
7. Preventative care without copay.
8. Greater transparency in insurance overhead.
9. Appeals process for coverage denials.
10. New procedures to root out fraud and waste.
11. Medicare expansion to rural areas.
12. New standards for non-profit organization efficiency.
... and many, many more.
I'm not saying it's the best. I'm not saying we shouldn't keep fighting for better. But this is a serious improvement over what has been going on lately.
I'll grant you improvements. But it merely shows what a failed democracy we live in because this is not what the American people wanted or supported in a large majority before and even after the bullshit propaganda campaign.
For attempting to make things better Obama gets a "Good for you" other than that it's like Bill Clinton for me...just because you're better than the Bush that came before you doesn't mean you're any good.
I quite agree. Obama is a disappointment in many ways. But let's be honest. The health care "debate" served to highlight what a bunch of morons we live among. As long as there are so many gullible idiots that believe in death panels and the "horrible" universal health care plans in almost every other civilized country, we can't expect much better. Obama was overhyped. We only get the leadership we deserve. And we don't deserve much. In my humble opinion, we were damn lucky to get anything positive out of the whole fiasco.
