Somewhat of a tangent here but, have you read Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale"? It features a dystopic, theocratic USA. A very good read imo (just don't watch the movie, it is hella crap).

I'm starting to like him. He's better than Romney in the sense that he actually BELIEVES and Does exactly what he says.
