Nice to see some support on this. I was responding to it rather late last night, and in an act of bad judgment from lack of sleep said I would upvote it if the majority decided it should stay. I upvoted, true to my word, but wish I hadn't made that promise. I'm a little disappointed that dag decided to sit on a fence rather than take a stance, as the admin, so it's good to see some others arguing against the video; I was afraid I was alone in my disapproval.

I don't think so. I tried to make the above in generic terms for a reason.

I know the sift has had quite a few discussions on snuff, and while im not going to get in to that here, if/as we are banning snuff, consider the following:

A clip from a snuff film, showing a clearly snuff part to it.
Its not very good snuff.
Its shot in a manner that makes it seem ridiculous and comedic.

Its still snuff.

I don't think anyone would think it had a place here, simply because it was poor snuff and comedic.

I think the same reasoning applies. It is bad porn, and it is ridiculous, but its still porn.

The internet is huge. most of it has porn. Having a few parts of it which don't have porn is no bad thing. This is a part that seeks not to have porn.

Keeping it here goes against that.

Yeah maybe, I watched it, and there is not much to report... they basically spent about 10 minutes on it, and just replayed a lot of stuff from the vid and focused on whether or not Tom Cruise was #2 in the church or not, and why he got into it in the first place, and some of the basic history of the Church and celebs... they interviewed the author of that new biography, and talked to Tom's Lawyer... there wasn't a whole lot of critical thinking going on though, and they stayed away from the really creepy and interesting subjects like Tom's wish for there to be no SP's in the future (SP= suppressive people, so basically, us), or the claims about how he has saved people's lives or cured "Ground Zero cough", which, frankly, I would like verified, as I've never heard of that before and it seems highly inflated.

But, that's what you get, 20/20, like most American 'journalism' these days, is utter fluff... they soon moved on to another fluff piece about how the mayor of a small town in Oregon posted pics of herself in a bikini (her hobby is weight training and body building, so, go fig) on her MySpace page and the ensuing small town fracas it has caused, but yet again, failed to ask any interesting questions that are fundamental to the story, mostly they just interviewed some old guys at a barbershop... sigh...

I actually half suspect that choggies choggieish got in the way here, and although those 4 lists are cool, i think he wanted a link to every vid he had ever used save/promote on, so people could see which vids he tried to save/promote etc.

That's cool with me...I'm kind of doing it as an experiment to see if they really were blocking other countries and to see what the general consensus is about videos that are region blocked but are otherwise unavailable to everyone.
