I thought they said that Bethesda would not use id tech 5 on games that are currently in development.
I am hoping that means they will switch to id tech when they finish the game they are working on now. Unfortunately that game is probably not coming out until 2011 and that means Elder Scrolls might not come out until 2013-2014.

Hmm... seems they've done an about-face. They were on record earlier this year that they expected TES5 to be a 2010 release. They also stated, after ZeniMax bought id, that they had no intention of switching to idtech. Supposedly, and I completely fail to believe this, idtech can't handle the quest scripting they do in TES games. I just really want to see the fat pig that is Gamebryo disappear.

Maybe they will use that engine for The Elder Scrolls 5 when they start making it.
