Red Bull F1 vs V8 Supercar vs C63 AMG (Melbourne, 2014)
I'd call it a "race-modified V8 super car", or "V8 race car" rather than a "super car" as such. *sports for the race.

The difference new engines make in Formula 1
from http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2014/1/15408.html:
Rule change: Introduction of new power unit consisting of a 1.6-litre V6 turbo engine and two Energy Recovery Systems (ERS)
Implications: The 2.4-litre normally-aspirated V8 engines of 2013 produced around 750bhp, with an additional 80bhp available for around six seconds per lap from KERS. The 2014 V6s put out around 600bhp. However, the two ERS systems (ERS-K and ERS-H) will give drivers an additional 160bhp or so for approximately 33 seconds per lap.
Transforming Formula One: 2014 Rules Explained by Red Bull
Yes. The naturally aspirated v8 engines were increasingly irrelevant for road car technology, so the aims of the new engine rules were to introduce the types of technology that are relevant to road cars (turbo, regenerative braking, fuel efficiency).
Two less-intended side effects are that these are the most expensive engines ever (in an era when everybody is talking about cost reductions!) and that everyone is wondering whether anyone will finish the first race...
They actually had the battery packs last year, but this year have reduced the fuel allocation by a third but without reducing the power output of the power units.

Cool *animation. Can anyone explain why they need such big battery packs and use regenerative breaking? Are they driving hybrids or something?

End of an era: signing off final Mercedes-Benz V8 F1 engine
The team have posted an extended version of the interview with Andy Cowell, where he says a few interesting things including that the current engine makes more than 750bhp, compared to about 200 odd for a similar capacity road car engine, and that the main focus of the new regulation engine is conversion efficiency which really wasn't a big consideration for the current v8 specification when they were designed.

Tech Bites: Fuel Slosh CFD Simulation
The four mountain peaks on the corners of the fuel cell are where the lift pumps gather fuel and pump it into the central fuel collector... from there a high pressure pump feeds the engine.

The 40kg of fuel in this simulation represents about 25% of the full fuel load at the start of a race, 58 litres, compared to a full fuel tank which has 160kg/230L

A bit of snow is not going to stop the mighty Audi
No. Let me help:
1) Not 2012 but 1994-1997.
2) There's no "AWD" with Audi, it's simply "Quattro".
3) It's not an A4, it's based on an A6. The first one by the way, successor to Audi's "100" series.
4) It's not a 2.0T, it's a naturally aspirated V8.
5) Above is also the reason why i wrote "based on an A6" because it's an S6 to be precise. The little badge on the trunk is a giveaway.
would that be the 2012 AWD Audi A4 2.0T Avant Quattro???
