Another 272000 jobs last month, well outside even the range of expectations which were closer to 180000. Unemployment a healthy and low 4%.
That Biden economy is still chugging up that hill like a 6 engine locomotive, racing uphill out of that valley the last president drove into faster than any other country, Americans are gaining buying power daily, the markets are hitting record highs constantly, prices are actually LOWERING in many cases as wages continue to grow. Companies continue to rake in record profits.

Only convicted felon Trump’s personal economy is sliding downhill…actually it’s falling off a cliff, $600 million+ in judgements growing interest daily, warrants in other countries for ignoring judgements, now incapable of even traveling to many of his businesses, a failed nearly bankrupt social media company burning through about $4 million a day with essentially zero income and a shrinking membership, spending more on lawyers for failing defenses than he’s raising to campaign, and very little campaigning, killing supporters when he does.

Biden support is rising fast as convicted felon Trump’s slumps, now losing in almost every poll including right wing polls, and will continue to slide as his conviction remains the big headline all month until his disastrous failure at the debate overshadows it.

There’s no chance he will be replaced at the RNC convention because you aren’t in a political party looking for the best candidate or even a winner, you are in a cult of personality willing to forfeit anything and everything for convicted felon (and rapist) Trump’s minuscule temporary benefit.

Sliding down hill, Americans are going broke.

Bidens support is falling off the cliff.
Will he be replaced at the DNC convention in Aug?

Get a new lie you moron. You started that one on Jan 20 2021 and it’s never been true.
The economy is doing great. Plowing hard uphill, Americas earning power is STILL INCREASING. Unemployment still record lows for a record time period, gdp still high, inflation low and dropping. Biden’s support is growing while Trump’s is falling off the cliff, idiot. That’s why Trump no longer talks about polls and has removed poll numbers from his tweets…he’s 5% behind now and falling a few more points every week. 😂

You get your nonsensical lies from idiots who only convince other ignorant idiots. Every word a total lie. You love to eat those lies and look the fool, then cannot ever admit your mistakes making you an infant who’s testicles shriveled and fell off.

Wishful thinking doesn’t create reality. I don’t know where you got this stupidity, but it doesn’t resemble reality one bit, sucker.

Nicky Haley is still getting 20%+ in primaries despite being out of the race for months. Trump can’t even get all Republicans, and they are a rapidly shrinking minority today. He has ostracized anyone not in his cult, insulted them, told them they aren’t welcome in maga, and warned that he will get retribution when he gets power. That is not the way to gain votes, it’s how you make people vote against you out of pure self preservation. Will he be replaced at the Republican convention in July? (Ps. DNC Convention is like saying PIN Number…it once again just shows you don’t know what you are saying.

Lol. So dishonest. Such ability at stretching reality and precognition you must have. “Everything’s good now, but it’s going to be terrible soon!”…pretty much what you said Jan 2021 but it’s been all uphill since then.

Under Trump- highest unemployment in memory : you just ignore and try to forget
Lowest gdp ever in history : you say it didn’t happen, wasn’t Trump’s fault, and when those sad excuses fall apart “doesn’t matter”
Inflation rising faster than ever with more dollars printed in 4 years than any other decade under Trump : you don’t know why that causes inflation so you blame anything but government until Biden takes office, then it becomes 100% the president’s fault.
Markets crashing : you ignored it under Trump and proclaimed it a great time to buy Tesla, and now you ignore the consistent market rise under Biden. My portfolio added 7% in the last 2 months, and the Dow is up, reaching record highs under Biden…maybe your stupid anti woke investments just suck.
Sounds horrific with over 1 million dead, millions disabled, trillions in medical bills and a near depression : you say “nothing burger, Trump’s the best at economy ever”
Food shortages, parts shortages, shipping gridlocks making it much worse : you pretend Biden was in charge in 2020 and blame him, (so ridiculous that your righty media posted dozens of photos of empty shelves from 2020 in 2021 to pretend it wasn’t better and you bought it) then you ignore that the shortages ended shortly after he was sworn in.

Republicans won’t raise the ceiling because the MAGA wing thinks default under Biden will be good for them because they believe voters are as ignorant as they are and will buy whatever they say when they blame Biden for their sabotage of the economy,….in your case they’re right. They’ve already cost untold millions by delaying so long with more harm done daily, and when they fail to raise it by June they’ll cost America trillions and kickstart a worldwide depression. Understand they still don’t have a plan at all now months after it was their duty to raise the debt ceiling like they did every year for Trump who spent like a drunken sailor with the captains treasure….squandering over 1/4 of today’s total US debt on personal ego stroking projects and gifts to billionaire donors…not one word of protest from the right as he blew up the deficit and debt by trillions every year. Not one complaint when Republican stunts cost billions (like Abbot’s grandstanding truck inspection farce that found absolutely nothing but cost $4 billion).

Republicans were in charge fully, it’s their mess. Covid didn’t hurt countries like NZ that took it seriously even a small fraction of how much Trump’s denials for months and lack of a plan ever decimated America. Trump’s/MAGA’s fault.
Government waited too long to start subsidies, giving people a reason to go to work and spread disease, ending with over 1 million deaths. You really DO get literally EVERYTHING wrong, then can’t understand why you are failing so consistently.

🤦‍♂️

Inflation falling. : Because lack of $ in pockets
Markets rising. : Nope Going sideways last few months
Sounds good to me. : Calm before the storm.

Republicans will raise the ceiling. Rep not the fault of this mess.
Covid lock downs and too much Gov $ dumped in the system too quickly

Midterm uphill battle for Democcrats

newtboy says...

Thanks to far right extremist billionaire, Trumpist, and allegedly 1/3 owner of Fox News corp John Malone exerting control from his board seat, CNN has gone far right…no longer allowed to discuss “the big lie”, no longer to have any biased opinion shows (like all of Fox). He claims he wants CNN to be centrist (his actions belie that claim) and become the network preferred by Democrats and Republicans….as if that were possible, reasonable, or profitable. CNN will never be the preferred source for Republicans, ever, and it’s blatantly obvious all his actions are doing is driving away Democrats and independents.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/cnn-staff-fears-right-wing-billionaire-john-malone-will-turn-it-into-a-dumpster-fire

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/aug/24/the-changes-at-cnn-look-politically-motivated-that-should-concern-us-all

It is now becoming a “water boy” news outlet, carrying water for far right extremists with water on the brain.

That “uphill battle” sure has turned, hasn’t it? Guaranteed Republican wins are falling like flies. ROEVEMBER is coming for the treasonous right. Hide and watch.

The Death Couloir - Mont Blanc

StukaFox says...

Therein lies the problem: most people HUGELY over-estimate their 'Acceptable risk level'.

- "This crumbling cliff edge above a 1,000 foot gorge is the PERFECT place for a selfie!" (one of the saddest deaths in WA was when one of the best skiers in the state decided to look over the edge of a cornice. It gave way and she fell almost a thousand feet to her death.)

- "100f and 0% humidity? What a perfect time to go for a 10 mile, uphill hike with only a can of Coke and some salty beef jerky!"

- "10 essentials? Beer, pot, lighter, cellphone, hat, earbuds, that little map they give you at the visitor center, more beer and is that 10?"

- "I can read a map just fine! This off-trail hike through a rugged part of the park will be breeze!"

- "I can get signal anywhere in this enormous national forest!"

- "Aww! What a cute little baby bear!"

- "Can we get an Uber at the bottom of this ravine?"

- "Let's go swimming! This raging river of snow melt will be the perfect place to cool off!"

etc etc etc

Racing for $100

Interesting... Yeah that's entitlement imo. The world is not fair and some people do get privileges that others do not get. maybe life was hard on bewb but that doesnt mean it should be for others too, or that common sense changes to better everyone overall (like a societal safety net) should be abandoned because he had to walk uphill both ways to school therefore so should everyone else. Some cant see past their own nose and are so self-absorbed they cant think of overall societal good without making it about them again.

I've seen / read some stuff around the "great replacement" concept lately. It's apparently a significant, if not THE significant commonality amongst people who both 1) believe the election was fraudulent and 2) would consider violence in response. The root causes of the worldview seems to stem from personal hardships, and from the perception of others getting advantages they didn't receive themselves. Makes some degree of sense to me, as over the course of one's life it could feel like you were treated unfairly while others were given a leg up.

It doesn't strike me as the sort of thing that can be productively fought against on an individual level. That such a worldview requires far more than just a motivating incident, but more like a life of personal experience, I don't personally see how to successfully shift someone away from it. Too damned ingrained. Our best bet, in my view, is actually having a proper social safety net that lifts everyone up to a viable baseline from which to pursue their life / liberty / happiness.

Police Who Murder Man In Public On Camera Fired

surfingyt says...

i agree its tempting to stop this from happening... but you say this after the fact that floyd is dead.

in your scenario, the person being arrested ends up living. so he goes to jail, alive. you get arrested for assaulting an officer and obstructing justice and now have to prove the person would have died if you had not intervened. that's a steep uphill battle but i would be on your side.

newtboy said:

I thought the same thing. No jury would convict you, and you would save a life.
Better might be to citizens arrest them both for attempted murder, meaning you have the right to kill them in the process if they fight. (Force used in a citizens arrest must be in line with the crime and only the amount needed to subdue and hold them)

Thanks for the P and Q

President Carter on Trump, Russia, and the Election

BSR says...

If I remember correctly, Obama couldn't get much done with the repubs blocking him every chance they could. In spite of that uphill battle, I think Obama did pretty well.

newtboy said:

Duh, Bob. Your insecurities are showing.

Carter still has more intelligence, honesty, and civility in his little toe nail than Trump's entire nepotistic family. He's also in better physical shape, Trump would die trying to do 1/4 the work Carter does daily.

They started investigating and found interference for one candidate's benifit, granted they should have made it as public as the Clinton investigation that found nothing, since they found massive interference on behalf of Trump he sanctioned Russia. Trump calls that investigation a witch hunt and illegally told Russia he would remove the sanctions day one (his messenger was convicted of that)....and has now publicly invited Russia to help him again, offering them a presidential shield from investigation or repercussions.

Trump lost the election, but barely won the electoral college with foreign help he begged for during the campaign repeatedly, and has requested again.

Bitter winner. Just because your win is illegitimate, and you know it.

You are such a fool for Trump.

Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell: Egoistic Altruism

TheFreak says...

My brain is moving slow this morning. But it sounds like an argument that wealthy people should stop hoarding wealth and allow more equitable distribution because they'll be better off. But they already have all the wealth in the current system, so you're not incentivizing them to change their patterns.

If you're arguing for a new system that doesn't allow the amassing of wealth by a small percentage of people, you're going to have an uphill battle because money = speech and thus, those with the money have more rights to decide how the system works.

The Way We Get Power Is About to Change Forever

newtboy says...

Ok....they start with a few mistaken premises.
Most importantly, the premise that energy is best stored in a chemical battery. It sounds good, but it's simply wrong. The best way to store large amounts of energy is in a hydro/gravity storage system. This is a two basin system, with two basins at different heights with a pump/generator linking them. When you have excess power, you pump water uphill. When you need more power, you let it flow back down. It's ecologically friendly, cheap, and effectively never wears out like batteries all do, it can work on any scale, and unlike most hydro doesn't impact a living river system. It's proven technology that's head and shoulders above battery banks.

Laotian Dam Failure

Asmo says...

They weren't making it out, they were going downhill in the same direction the water was backflowing from...

Seriously people, if you see flooding like this (and I hope you never do), if you have an 'uphill' to go to (ie. behind the white building following the red pipe), go that way. You can't get to your family in time, so ring them up on the mobile and get fucking safe. Even if you do survive by some miracle, some poor rescue worker has to come try to save you.
